Terms of service for TaskBreakdown

Acceptance

Last updated: October 26, 2026.

These Terms of Service govern your use of TaskBreakdown at taskbreakdown.app. By creating an account or using the product, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use TaskBreakdown.

TaskBreakdown is operated by 张京乐, an individual developer based in Beijing, China. The product operator provides the application and support; the legal seller for a payment is identified at checkout and on its receipt.

The Service

TaskBreakdown offers two workspace modes. Task mode helps users clarify resistance, break down tasks, and generate or rewrite structured plans. Experience mode summarizes, classifies, quotes, deduplicates, and reorganizes the source text you provide; it does not promise to verify the author's claims or add execution advice. Both modes support saved history and Markdown export.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate account information and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

AI Output

AI-generated plans are provided for productivity support only, not professional advice. Summaries and classifications may also be incorrect, and source excerpts do not mean the underlying facts, experiences, or speculation have been verified. You are responsible for reviewing outputs, checking facts, and deciding whether they are appropriate for your situation.

Credits

Free users currently receive 10 initial credits. Each successful plan generation, plan rewrite, deeper breakdown, experience organization, or experience reorganization consumes 1 credit. Clarification before generation is free; failed AI/API requests do not consume credits. Experience mode does not offer task deepening. Request frequency, concurrency, and input limits still apply; free clarification has a daily usage budget and does not mean unlimited model calls. When the budget is reached, you may generate an existing task with the information already provided or continue clarification after the next 00:00 UTC reset.

Credits are not cash, have no monetary value outside TaskBreakdown, and cannot be transferred unless we explicitly allow it.

Subscriptions and Payments

Pro Monthly costs USD 9 per month and grants 300 credits per billing month. Pro Yearly costs USD 90 per year but still grants 300 credits each month, not 3,600 credits upfront. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel future renewals in the billing area. The checkout page specifies the payment provider, currency, applicable taxes, and total due. Waffo Pancake processes payments when selected at checkout; existing Creem payments, subscriptions, and related records continue to be handled through Creem where applicable.

Yearly credit periods are anchored to the subscription start date, using the last day of a month when that date does not exist. Each credit grant expires at the start of the next period; expired monthly allowances do not accumulate. Each subscription period is granted only once. Canceling renewal does not end an unexpired paid entitlement early. A yearly subscription continues monthly grants while that entitlement remains active, and grants stop when it expires or cancellation takes effect.

Refunds

First-subscription guarantee: First-time monthly and annual subscribers may request a full refund within seven days of the initial successful charge, provided successful operations since that charge have consumed no more than 30 credits by the time of the request. The same 30-credit threshold applies to annual subscriptions; it is not based on the annual allowance. This guarantee applies once per customer. Free clarification and failed operations that consume no credits do not count toward usage.

Renewals and cancellation: For an unintended renewal, request a refund within seven days of that successful charge. The renewal payment is refundable if no successful operations have consumed credits since that charge. Cancellation alone does not issue a refund; paid access continues until its expiry, including monthly credit grants during an eligible paid annual term.

Other refunds: Outside these windows or usage limits, payments are generally not refundable for a change of mind, and unused time is not routinely refunded pro rata. Duplicate charges, non-delivery, and serious technical failures are reviewed separately for a full or partial refund as appropriate. Applicable statutory rights and refunds required by the payment provider remain unaffected.

Access after refunds: Once a full refund completes, the entitlement and unused credits associated with that payment end, and related future renewals are stopped. Valid entitlements from other non-refunded payments, free credits, and saved history remain unaffected. Partial refunds normally retain access for the relevant period unless a different outcome is explained during review.

How to request: Contact us using the email in the Contact section from your account email, with the order reference and reason, or use an available refund-request channel from your payment provider. Pause related paid usage after requesting a refund. Seven days means 168 hours from the successful charge; eligibility is assessed at the time the request is submitted. We respond within two business days. Receipt of funds depends on the payment provider and bank; no fixed arrival date is guaranteed. We do not deduct a refund-processing fee from a promised full refund.

User Content and History

You retain the rights you hold in your task descriptions, feedback, and other submissions. Submitting someone else's article, course, or experience does not transfer the author's rights to you; you must be authorized to submit and process that material. You grant TaskBreakdown permission to process content as needed to provide the service, including processing through OpenRouter and the configured model provider, storage, history display, export, debugging, abuse prevention, and support.

Attachments are converted to text in your browser, but clicking Send submits and saves the extracted text and filename as conversation content. This is not an entirely offline file tool.

Workspace history deletion is a soft deletion, not immediate physical database erasure, and there is no fixed automatic permanent-erasure deadline. See the Privacy Policy for further deletion requests and retention boundaries. Some records may remain in the database, backups, logs, payment records, or security records.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use TaskBreakdown for illegal, harmful, abusive, or deceptive activity.
  • Attempt to bypass credits, payments, rate limits, authentication, or security controls.
  • Interfere with the service or other users.
  • Submit content that you do not have the right to use.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or misuse the service beyond normal product use.

Availability

We aim to keep TaskBreakdown reliable, but the service may be interrupted, changed, limited, or discontinued. AI providers, payment providers, hosting providers, and other third-party systems may also affect availability.

Disclaimers

TaskBreakdown is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TaskBreakdown and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Updated terms will be posted on this page. Continued use of TaskBreakdown after changes means you accept the updated terms.
